Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

Since President Reagan in 1983, both Presidents HW Bush and George W Bush have issued proclamations establishing a National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS). That Sunday in January that falls closest to the day on which the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions were handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court on January 22, 1973 is recognized as The National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.

That basic right to life, enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, is under broad assault. Today we must do all we can to dignify life on behalf of the unborn, embryonic stem cell research, children of disability, the sacred marriage covenant, gender disorientation and euthanasia.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is commemorated by thousands of churches and individuals alike. Enthusiastic supporters participate in pro-life baby showers. Pastors and teachers give special Sunday school lessons and sermons, some churches ring bells and others sponsor prayer & candle vigils. Many Christians prayerfully petition the Lord for mercy and humbly fast that the fundamental right to life will be honored in conception and until natural death.

To highlight the sacredness of life, Los Angeles Pregnancy Services partners in a nationwide campaign distributing bulletin inserts in local churches. If you would like to assist us in reaching your church please call our office.
